Press release: Norra Skog select Woodflow
Today we are pleased to announce that Norra Skog has decided to use Woodflow for planning and analysis of its wood logistics. Norra Skog will use the entire Woodflow suite with both Optimizer and Analyzer to increase its ability to both plan and analyze timber flows.
“As we are operating over half of Sweden’s surface with long transport distances, Woodflow will be an excellent complement to our business in finding smart logistical solutions” – Oscar Jakobsson, Supply manager Norra Skog
“Norra Skog has already come a long way in its process of utilizing optimization and we are happy that they want to continue developing their ability together with us. We look forward to creating further opportunities for streamlined logistics and reduced environmental impact.” – Erik Rönnqvist, Creative Optimization
About Norra Skog
Norra Skog is a newly formed forest owners association with roots in Norra Skogsägarna and Norrskog. The association is owned by 27,000 individual forest owners with a total forest holding of just over 2.1 million hectares of forest land in northern Sweden (the landscapes of Norrbotten, Västerbotten, Lapland, Ångermanland, Medelpad and Jämtland). The group also includes Norra Timber, which includes three sawmills, three processing units and a pole factory. Together, the industries annually produce close to 800,000 cubic meters of wood products and approximately 60,000 turned pine posts per year. About 60 percent of the wood product sales are exported. Together, the members also own 30 percent of the pulp mill Husum Pulp AB. In 2020, the group’s turnover was 4.7 billion SEK.
