Through digital tools for data collection, management, and intelligent utilization, conditions are created for industrial actors with complex processes to optimize their value chains. That’s exactly what the plan is for the Hugin and Munin project initiated by Digital tvilling, Creative Optimization, and LKAB as part of Vinnova’s advanced and innovative digitization efforts. The project is partly financed by Vinnova.

LKAB is one of the world’s largest producers of iron ore pellets and fines for the steel industry, and it is a crucial industry in Sweden. Their value chain, like many of today’s processes, is distributed and complex, with decisions made hierarchically. Therefore, new challenges and ambitious goals require optimization of this entire value chain across organizational, geographic, and time-based boundaries.
