The project aims to create novel knowledge and adoption of new methods and technology that will lead to substantial increase in work productivity of tree harvesting and silvicultural activities as well as increase of productivity of wood production. Development of work procedures and enhancement of forest work productivity is based on the premise that environmental influence of forest work will concurrently be decreased.
The project is coordinated by Natural Resources Institute Finland (Luke) and involves 23 partners from five countries. EFFORTE has received funding from the Bio Based Industries Joint Undertaking under the European Union´s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme.
Creative Optimization will, based on existing and new big data sources in forestry applications, develop decision support models for efficient, sustainable and value-creating forestry and forest operations.
