Swedish forestry transports every year 80 million tonnes of round wood on trucks and trains at a cost of more than 6 billion SEK. Efficient logistics planning is therefore a key factor in the profitability of forestry. Studies at the Forestry Research Institute of Sweden show that the use of decision support with optimization for fundamental decisions on allocation of timber volumes can improve planning and reduce logistics costs by 5-15% and reduce emissions of harmful greenhouse gases with corresponding numbers. Woodflow Optimizer is a powerful tool for planning transports and analyzing alternative
transport scenarios. Optimizer takes a number of different features into account, such as different
transport modes,back-hauling, collaboration, and multiple periods.

Woodflow UX is an intuitive graphical interface for Optimizer and Analyzer. It has features for loading
and validating data, optimization adjustments and result interpretation via map and tables.
